BREAKING: Donald Trump Could Face 136 Years In Prison
When all of the charges that have been brought against former President Donald Trump are considered together, the maximum amount of time that he may spend in prison is staggering. According to a report by Mediaite, he could be sentenced to a maximum of 136 years in jail if he were to be found guilty of all 34 counts of felony that have been brought against him.
Consider that sentence in the context of New York City, where violent offenders are sometimes not prosecuted in the first place, but where a payment to an adult film actress may land someone in prison for 134 years depending on how they reported it.
It is quite doubtful that he will receive anything even remotely close to that type of punishment, and it is extremely unusual that the prosecutors will ask for that type of sentence, but the idea that it is even a possibility is mind-boggling.
Following the publication of several sections of the indictment against the former president on Monday, the defendant published a statement on his TruthSocial account in which he challenged Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to indict himself.
There is no proof that Bragg disclosed any information; nonetheless, if he had done so, he would likewise be subject to severe sanctions. Alan Dershowitz, a renowned attorney, is of the opinion that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg should lose his license to practice law as a result of his lawsuit against former President Donald Trump.
During an appearance on Fox News, Dershowitz said that if Bragg is found guilty of leaking details of Trump’s indictment to the media, he may face up to five years in prison. This was one of the arguments that Dershowitz made.
Leaking testimony from a grand jury to the general public is considered a Class E felony in the state of New York and can result in a jail sentence ranging from one to five years. Dershowitz also discussed how the presence of Michael Cohen as a witness may be detrimental to the office of the district attorney.
In addition, Professor Dershowitz noted in an opinion piece that the individual responsible for leaking the sealed indictment is, in his view, the only person guilty of a felony in this particular case.
Dershowitz stated that it seems that Bragg’s view is that Trump should have disclosed why he paid for a non-disclosure agreement to be given to adult film star Stormy Daniels, which would contradict the purpose of the non-disclosure agreement. Dershowitz said that it appears that Bragg’s theory is that Trump paid for the non-disclosure agreement.
